How do I receive my tax refund with PayPal?

To receive your tax refund with PayPal, you’ll need to:

• Have a PayPal Balance account; and
• Enroll in PayPal Direct Deposit and receive an assigned account and routing number. If you already have a PayPal Debit Mastercard®, you’ll already have a Direct Deposit account and routing number to use to receive your tax refund.

Here’s how to find your Direct Deposit information after enrollment:

1. Click the Settings icon.
2. Click View your Direct Deposit info.
3. You’ll see your account and routing number here.

Here's how to find your Direct Deposit account and routing numbers on the PayPal app:

1. Tap Accounts.
2. Tap Balance.
3. Tap Direct Deposit.

When providing your Direct Deposit account and routing number to the IRS on your tax form, select ‘Checking’ as the account type.

Once processed by the IRS, your refund is automatically added to your PayPal Balance account, and we’ll notify you by email.
